What formats are audio books available in?

Audio books, newspapers and magazines are available to listen to on CD, USB stick, and in digital formats like MP3.

  • CD and USB stick: You can listen to CDs and USB sticks on a stereo, music system or other device that has a CD player or USB port.
  • Digital: You can download and listen to digital audio books, magazines and newspapers on your computer, MP3 player (such as an iPod), tablet (such as an iPad or Galaxy Tab) or mobile phone. You can listen to eBooks using an eBook reader (such as a Kindle) with text-to-speech.

Don't forget, DAISY CDs can be played on any MP3 CD player. You won't be able to use the bookmark feature or have as much control navigating the book, but MP3 CD players are much more affordable than DAISY players.

We can help you try out audio samples, buy and borrow audio books, newspapers and magazines in any of the formats listed above, as well as giving you some information to help you understand audio.
