How does someone guide me?
There are no hard and fast rules on how someone should guide you, but you can read our suggestions for guiding safely and sensibly that you may want to pass on. Give them a try with your guide and see what works best for you.
If there is someone who you would like to guide you on a regular basis, it could be worth them attending a course on guiding or visual awareness (which usually involves some guiding). Your local voluntary society for blind or partially sighted people may run such courses and can give you some pointers about guiding.
You can search for contact details of your local society on the Sightline Directory.
