How do I guide someone?

Download our "How to Guide" leaflet for more detailed information about guiding blind and partially sighted people:

There are no hard and fast rules on how to guide someone, but you should always ask the person you are guiding what they would like.

If you guide someone on a regular basis, it could be worth you attending a course on guiding or visual awareness (which usually involves some guiding). Your local society for blind or partially sighted people may run such courses and can give you some pointers about guiding.

You can search for contact details of your local society on the Sightline Directory using "local society" as a keyword.
