What's Live Braille?

Live Braille is a wearable mobility aid.

It's worn on the user's hand, and emits ultrasonic waves to alert the wearer to nearby objects through vibrations.

It works a bit like an Ultra Cane (or smart cane), but Live Braille markets itself as more accurate and a lot more convenient.

Updated models of Live Braille, including a version suitable for running, is currently under development.

RNIB does not sell Live Braille, but it's available through the manufacturer (based in India), starting from $299.
