How can I arrange a social care assessment?

The first step to getting help from social services is usually to contact them explaining that you’re blind or partially sighted and that you would like an assessment of your needs.

Find your local council to arrange an assessment:

For more information on the help you can receive from your local social services department, please see our Help from Social Services leaflet:

The North Wales Social Care and Well-being Services Improvement Collaborative has produced a guide explaining how care and support is assessed and delivered across Wales following the introduction of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014. Despite the name this applies to the whole of Wales, not just the North.
