What is Disability Living Allowance (DLA)?

Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is a benefit for children aimed at helping meet the extra costs of a disability.  You can claim DLA for your child if they have additional care and/or mobility needs .

Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is gradually replacing DLA for adults.

Further information on claiming DLA for your child can be found on our Disability Living Allowance (DLA) webpages.

For further information on PIP, see What is the Personal Independence Payment (PIP)?
