How do I get money out of a cash machine if I can't see the screen?

There are around 10,000 talking cash machines in the UK that can help you to take out cash more easily, without memorising sequences of button presses or relying on a member of staff to help you. Talking cash machines (ATMs) provide a jack for you to plug in a set of headphones so that you can listen to the options. The machine will give you several choices and ask you to press the appropriate button on the key pad.

Contact your bank to see if they are using talking cash machines and where the nearest one is to you. If there isn't one nearby, the safest alternative is to use a cash machine inside a bank branch. You may need a member of staff to help you if you are unfamiliar with the sequence of the buttons you have to press to get the right amount of cash you need. Or you could always withdraw money over the counter.
