What happens when a Sight Loss Adviser / ECLO service is up and running and the funding is coming to an end?

We negotiate with the funders to continue funding or approach local health and social care services to see if they can absorb the cost. We’ve had some success in doing so, for example we funded Bolton, Bradford and Whipps Cross Hospital in London and statutory services in Northern Ireland for a period of time, they all picked up the funding for these services and continued to offer them.

However, it still takes considerable work to ensure that all contracts are renewed and many of the positions that do exist are in jeopardy because the future funding situation is uncertain.
