Why is 'being there' your top priority?

Our evidence shows 94 per cent of people who’ve had access to a sight loss adviser say that it helped them to cope. But fewer than one in three hospitals offer people losing their sight any emotional or practical support from a qualified sight loss advisor.

A lack of capacity in eye clinics (due to rising demand from new treatments and the aging population) also means that clinicians have less time than ever to spend with patients. The problem is at an all time high which is why we need sight loss advisers more than ever. We want everyone who is newly diagnosed to be able to access this service.
