What does ‘being there’ mean?

Every 15 minutes, someone in the UK is being told “You are losing your sight” and often they are left to cope with this news alone, so it's no surprise that many people quickly feel isolated and depressed.

Over the next five years, we are running a 'Being there' campaign, as we want to make sure that everyone gets the practical and emotional support they need straight away.

Sight Loss Advisers / ECLOs help people to face the future with confidence by signposting key services and providing tailored one-to-one advice.

We want a top quality Sight Loss Adviser / ECLO in every eye department in the UK.
