How long do I have to wait to get my cataract operation?

The NHS constitution says that you should be seen by a consultant within 18 weeks of being referred to the hospital. This is a maximum waiting time and you may be seen earlier than this.

Current waiting times for cataract operations vary across the country. If you feel you have been waiting a very long time for your operation, we may be able to offer you advice and information that may help.
